Dr. Brian Moritz, associate professor and director of online journalism MA programs, presented research into how sports journalists are covering gambling scandals at the IACS Summit on Communication and Sports, hosted by Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland, in March.

Moritz's research examined how sports journalists covered the Jontay Porter gambling scandal. IACS is the International Association for Communication and Sport.

He also spoke at the Crisis in Mediated Communication symposium hosted by the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island on April 9-10. Moritz spoke about the impact that legal gambling and artificial intelligence are having on daily sports journalism.
