Magazine features excerpt from Book edited by Mackowski

Oct 27, 2020 The current issue of America's Civil War magazine features an excerpt from a book edited by Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication.

The book, "Entertaining History: The Civil War in Literature, Film, and Song," contains essays and features by more than 20 historians and writers, focused on books, movies, TV shows, music, and other Civil War-related pop culture texts.

The excerpt, "Attic Echoes," is an interview conducted by Jandoli School graduate Hannah Gordon who spoke to author Tony Horwitz about his iconic book "Confederates in the Attic: Dispatches from America's Unfinished Civil War."

Horwitz died shortly before the publication of "Entertaining History," making Gordon's interview the last he gave about "Confederates."

The excerpt also includes an introduction by Mackowski.
