SBU's Stevens contributes to book about by women composers

Dr. Brian Stevens, lecturer of Music, is a contributing author to a newly published book titled "Choral Repertoire by Women Composers." Published by G.I.A., the book profiles the lives and works of more than 200 women choral composers.

Stevens was the most prolific contributor to the book, with 21 entries.

Stevens was also a featured presenter at the 2025 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Conference in Dallas, Texas, March 18-22, where he participated in a session on the book titled "In Her Voice: Spotlighting Female Choral Composers."

Stevens also led another conference session titled "Discovering Swedish Choral Music," with Gehrmans Musikförlag, Sweden's most prominent music publisher.
