Fr. Michael Calabria, O.F.M., associate professor and director of the Center for Arab & Islamic Studies, presented at the 2023 Alway Symposium on "Sacred Book and Sacred Page in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Traditions," held March 20 in Toronto, Canada.

 

The symposium was sponsored by the University of St. Michael's College, the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, and the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies, all in Toronto.

 

Fr. Michael's plenary presentation was titled "Sacred Page, Sacred Monument: Learning from the Taj Mahal for our Multireligious Societies." In 2021, his book on the inscriptions of the Taj Mahal was published by I.B. Tauris/Bloomsbury.
