Dr. José M. Medrano, assistant professor of Spanish, co-authored "The Postmodern Novel and the Post-Boom in Latin America," an article in The Oxford Handbook of the Latin American Novel, Oxford Handbook Series, Oxford University.
He also published the peer-reviewed article "La ciencia detrás del contar historias: Los claveles de Julia de José María Samper y otras lecturas colombianas" (The Science Behind Telling Stories: The Carnations of Julia of Jose Maria
Samper and other Colombian Readings), in Modernidad y posmodernidad en la narrative del Tolima, Pijao Editores (Colombia).
Medrano was also named the co-chair of the permanent conference panel "How Representation is Forged in Connection with Collective Acts in Contemporary Film," at the Midwest Modern Language Association.
