St. Bonaventure University

Faculty Emeriti

Professors from all schools in the university who have been bestowed the title of "emeritus" upon retirement from full-time teaching.

The title of professor emeritus is an honorary designation that may be awarded to recognize those who have retired with the earned rank of associate professor or professor after at least 10 years of full-time meritorious service to the university and their field of knowledge. While no longer full-time faculty members, some continue to teach on occasion as adjunct instructors.

    TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Teaching is about serving students beginning on the first day of the semester and never ending.  Serving them in their academic as well as their professional careers is the reason that I left public accounting and became a faculty member.

    CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS/PROJECTS
    PERSONAL INTERESTS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
After a long association with Mt. Irenaeus, I became professed as a Secular Franciscan and am a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. My wife, Bonnie, and I are active members of the St. Irenaeus Fraternity.

Along with Jim Mahar and others, I was a founding member of BonaResponds. This has been and continues to be particularly satisfying and I have participated in numerous trips in response to natural disasters. I continue to participate, but now more on a consulting basis.

Most of all, I take great satisfaction in my family. Being a husband, father and grandfather tops everything.
