St. Bonaventure University

Bona Access Guarantee

Tuition covered. Opportunity opened.
A St. Bonaventure education may be closer than you think.

Beginning with students entering in fall 2027, the Bona Access Guarantee will cover 100% of tuition for eligible New York State students from families with annual total incomes of $80,000 or less and typical assets.

Federal, state and St. Bonaventure grants and scholarships work together to cover tuition. No separate Bona Access application is required.

A clear tuition guarantee

College financial aid can feel complicated. Bona Access Guarantee is designed to make one important part of the decision easier to understand.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, grants and scholarships will cover the full cost of your St. Bonaventure tuition. That means your family can consider the benefits of a private, Catholic-Franciscan education with greater clarity and confidence.

You qualify if you:

  • Are a New York state resident.

  • Are admitted as a new first-year student beginning in fall 2027.

  • Have total annual family income of $80,000 or less.

  • Have financial assets within Bona Access Guarantee guidelines.

  • Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student.

  • Live in university housing.

  • Submit the required admission and financial aid materials by Dec. 15, 2026.

Deadlines

Apply, submit the FAFSA, and complete your TAP application by Dec. 15, 2026, for Bona Access Guarantee eligibility determination.

How the guarantee works

St. Bonaventure will first apply the grants and scholarships for which you are eligible, including:

  • Federal grants

  • New York State grants, including TAP

  • St. Bonaventure merit scholarships

  • St. Bonaventure need-based grants

  • Other tuition-specific grants and scholarships, as applicable

If those grants and scholarships do not equal the full cost of tuition, St. Bonaventure will provide additional institutional aid to cover the remaining tuition balance.

That is the Bona Access Guarantee.

What is covered?

Bona Access covers 100% of undergraduate tuition for eligible students.

It does not cover:

  • University fees

  • Housing

  • Meal plans

  • Books and supplies

  • Transportation

  • Personal expenses

  • Special course, travel or study-abroad expenses

Students' FAFSA information will be reviewed for any additional need-based award eligibility.

Students must live in university housing to receive and renew the guarantee.
