Content Creation Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Content Creation program at St. Bonaventure prepares students to thrive in today’s digital-first communication world. You’ll learn to craft compelling stories, manage online communities, and produce multimedia content that informs, entertains and inspires.

The Content Creation major joins seven other Jandoli School of Communication majors, which are accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.

The creator economy is surging: full-time digital creator jobs in the U.S. soared from approximately 200,000 in 2020 to 1.5 million in 2024 — a 7.5 × increase — according to a recent report by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and Harvard Business School.

As content creation and visual storytelling become central across industries, this program positions you directly for that growth.

In our BA in Content Creation, you will complete 400 hours of internship experience — a requirement consistent across all majors in the Jandoli School. The school’s dedicated internship coordinator will guide you in securing meaningful placements both on campus and off. Meanwhile, you’ll also gain hands-on opportunities through our many campus media outlets.

*The foreign language must be at the 202 level and may be modern or classical (Latin). Students not prepared to begin at this level will need to take additional courses. Those additional courses will count as general electives.

**The Jandoli School of Communication requires MATH 107 or MATH 135 to satisfy the University’s Quantitative Literacy General Education Requirement.

NOTE: Students must complete internship requirements totaling 400 hours either on- or off-campus under the guidance of the Jandoli School internship coordinator. Transfer students must complete 100 hours for each year they are on campus.

"Something to Sing About," The 12th picture book by Dr. Heather Harris, associate professor in the Jandoli School, was released this summer by In Your Heart Books.

Heather Harris's new book "Something to Sing About," The 12th picture book by Dr. Heather Harris, associate professor in the Jandoli School, was released this summer by In Your Heart Books.

Harris worked with author Karen Richards Toothaker to create the pictures for this fresh telling of the star-filled night that Jesus was born.

"This project pushed me to research and discover ancient worlds and peoples, animals and angels, settings and styles, so I could illustrate it for a modern audience," Harris said.

The project entailed creating 28 fully finished illustrations, the cover illustration, and end papers, which took the better part of a year of working with the author; it took more than 200 hours to produce the final illustrations.

The book has been submitted for national book award recognition to the following organizations: The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, The Illumination Award for Christian Literature, The Rubery Book Award for International Recognition of Independent Publishers, and The Charlotte Zolotow Award for outstanding writing in a picture book published in the United States.
