The Office of Accessibility Services and Academic Support is pleased to offer a revamped testing center and additional resources for students with disabilities.

Brianna Bouge, associate director of Accessibility Services & Accommodations, said five private testing rooms are available in the Student Success Center in Plassmann Hall. The rooms are now all equipped with a computer, adjustable desks, and accessible seating, such as wiggle stools and ball chairs.

Additional resources such as dictation software, sound machines, magnifiers, Livescribe smart pens (available to borrow for note taking support), and myriad fidgets are available for students with disabilities to use in the Student Success Center. Rocketbooks, which upload handwritten notes electronically to a student’s computer or phone, are available for students to use.

All of these resources are provided to promote more opportunities for all students with disabilities.

“We’re here to help. If faculty have a student who is struggling, they can reach out to us. We’re here to support students with disabilities in accessing the accommodations they need,” Bouge said.

Faculty, staff and students who have questions about academic accommodations and services can contact Bouge at (716) 375-2115 or bbouge@sbu.edu.
