All full-time students attending St. Bonaventure University are required to have health insurance. Full-time undergraduate students (12 or more credits) are automatically enrolled in the SBU Student Health Insurance Plan, with the cost added to their student account. Students who already have coverage through another plan may waive the SBU insurance by completing the online waiver.
Visits with campus medical providers and counselors are included in the cost of attendance, so there are no fees, and no insurance required for on-campus appointments. Health insurance is required, however, for services outside the Health Center, such as laboratory testing sent to external labs, off-campus referrals, prescription medications, emergency or urgent care visits, and medical transportation.
Students coming from outside the local area, including out-of-state and international students, are encouraged to consider the SBU plan to ensure coverage in the Olean, Allegany, and Bradford (PA) region.
