Darwin L. King, professor of Accounting, Dr. Carl J. Case, professor of Management, and Michael L. McLanahan, lecturer of Accounting, presented a paper titled "A History of Dirty Dozen Frauds: How Dirty Do They Get?" at the 31st annual conference of the American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences.
The conference was held in Los Angeles, California, March 8-10. The paper earned a Best Paper of a Track Award, which was presented at the honors luncheon on March 9.
At the same conference, McLanahan, King and Case also presented a paper titled “Accounting for Violence, A Taxing Job,” which discussed a history of violent acts committed against Internal Revenue Service (IRS) professionals and the steps being taken to provide additional training to government employees. The paper earned a Best Paper Award.
