Curriculum & Courses

The Master of Science in sport administration is open to eligible students from all undergraduate majors. It is a 30-credit (10 course) program consisting of:
  • Sport Administration core (6 credits) 
  • Business Foundation core (9 credits)
  • Graduate electives (12 credits)
  • Capstone course (3 credits).
The minimum number of credits required for the Master of Science degree is 30.

A detailed plan of study is developed for each student by the School of Business program director based on the academic preparation of the student.

Curriculum & Courses notes:

* The Sport Administration core in conjunction with the Business Foundation core ensures that all students have a holistic understanding of business with an emphasis on sport business.

** The Business Foundation core is designed to ensure that all students have common academic business knowledge as well as some breadth in the concepts and tools used in upper-level courses and in business. Students without a business background must complete group A; group B can be completed as electives. Students with a business background will complete group B.

*** The Business Management and Sport Specialization electives (12 credits total) allow students to pursue studies in specific areas of interest. 

**** SAM 650 is the capstone course of the program and fulfills the School of Graduate Studies requirement of a written comprehensive exam.
