Dr. Daekyun Oh, assistant professor of physical education, made two research presentations at the 2024 SHAPE America National Convention & Expo, held March 12-16 in Cleveland, Ohio. 

His first presentation, titled "Analyzing the Concerns and Potential of Integrating Sport into Physical Education," analyzed the complexities involved in assimilating sport into the physical education curriculum. It also contextualized the analysis within the cultural implications and the inherent educational potential of sport in American society. 

His second presentation, titled “The Potential of Utilizing Hanaro Teaching Pedagogical Model in School Physical Education in the United States,” explored physical education preservice teachers’ experience of learning and their perceptions of the pedagogical model through a series of learning and implementation. 

SHAPE (Society of Health and Physical Educators) America is the largest organization of professionals involved in physical education, physical activity, and school health. It serves as the voice for more than 200,000 health and physical education professionals across the United States.
