Dr. Paula Scraba, associate professor of physical education, presented on April 9 at the Foster Center for Responsible Leadership's spring "Leadership & Authentic Community" conference, held on campus.

 

Scraba's program, titled "Leadership Through Special Olympics: Serving, Learning, Leading," highlighted SBU initiatives with Special Olympics New York, from a Leadership course for event managers to collaboration with SBU Athletics and local school districts on the running of Unified Sports clinics.

 

The program trains SBU students to be certified coaches for Special Olympics.
