- Assisted in various research projects including development and testing of monoclonal antibody stocks, and genetic engineering associated with postdoctoral projects on early development of Drosophila.
- Management activities included all chemical and supply ordering, hazardous waste management, supervising student workers, supervising laboratory equipment maintenance and repair, and general creative problem solving.

- Assisted in research on barley yellow dwarf virus detection, and studies of viral coat proteins using standard techniques of molecular biology.
