SBU's Sabina named to two-year term on jazz journal editorial board

Dr. Leslie M. Sabina, professor of Music and chair of the Department of Visual & Performing Arts, was recently appointed to the editorial board of Jazz Education in Research and Practice (JAZZ).


Dr. Leslie M. Sabina, professor of Music and chair of the Department of Visual & Performing Arts, was recently appointed to the editorial board of Jazz Education in Research and Practice (JAZZ).

The journal explores diverse topics of jazz scholarship and its applications to pedagogy and provides a forum for interaction and exchange between researchers and practitioners. Sabina's two-year term begins July 1.

  • Golf with the Bonnies in Rochester

    ⛳We are excited to announce that registration is now open for Golf with the Bonnies (Rochester)! This year’s tournament promises to be an exciting day of golf, camaraderie, and support for our student-athletes.  Proceeds from this event will directly support our student-athletes, providing them with the resources and opportunities needed to succeed both on and off the field!🏌️

  • Bona Day at Saratoga Race Course

    The Bonnies Day at Saratoga races will be held in the outdoor veranda suites at the top of the stretch run where you can experience the thunder of the hoofs and ground shaking beneath you as the horses round the turn and charge down the stretch toward the finish!

    📍 Saratoga Race Course, 267 Union Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
    🕚 Gates open at 11 a.m. | 🏇 First race at 1 p.m.
    🎟️ $75 per person (includes light fare; cash bar available)

    📣Hey Young Alums! If you graduated between 2025 - 2015, enjoy a reduced entry fee of $60.
