Harris earns honorable mention for her fifth picture book

The fifth picture book by Heather Lynn Harris, assistant professor and director of the integrated marketing communications program, has won two honorable mentions in the Purple Dragonfly Book competition.
The fifth picture book by Heather Lynn Harris, assistant professor and director of the integrated marketing communications program, has won two honorable mentions in the Purple Dragonfly Book competition.
 
"The Monster in My Basement," a children's picture book written by Dave Preston and illustrated by Harris, launched nationally on Oct. 1.
 
The Purple Dragonfly Book Awards is a worldwide competition that recognizes excellence in children's books.
 
A Purple Dragonfly Book Award, judged by experts in the field of children's literature and publishing, tells parents, grandparents, educators, and caregivers that they are giving children a book of the highest caliber.
