SBU’s Warming House to stay open, but guests being asked to pick up meals

Mar 12, 2020

St. Bonaventure University is implementing precautionary measures at the Warming House in Olean to prevent the possible exposure and spread of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Until March 31, at which time university officials will re-examine the policy, the Warming House will remain open from Sunday through Friday, but guests will only be able to pick up a meal at the back door between 4 and 4:30 p.m.

Guests are asked to bring a reusable bag to take their meals home.

“We take the health and safety of our guests at the Warming House very seriously,” said Alice Miller Nation, director of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern at SBU. “While we navigate this complex and rapidly evolving situation, the Warming House will continue to provide our guests with a nutritious meal.”
