Students requesting services should do so through the Office of ASA prior to the start of classes, programs, or activities.
Untimely requests may result in delay or denial of accommodations. If a request is submitted late, ASA office will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the request.
In general, the student is encouraged to make timely and appropriate disclosures and engage in appropriate and responsible levels of self-help in obtaining and arranging for accommodations. Because each disability presents unique needs and course requirements vary, each student must discuss requested course accommodations with his or her instructors each semester.
For those auxiliary services that are likely to be funded by vocational rehabilitation counselors, the University may require the student to apply to those agencies. ASA may provide assistance with this request.
Questions or concerns related to policies or procedures not resolved with ASA staff shall first be discussed informally with the coordinator of Accessibility Services and Accommodations and then be subject to informal discussion with the student’s academic dean.
