Major: Finance and Accounting
Title: Investments Intern
Organization: Farmers Trust Company
One does not realize the importance of hands-on experience versus classroom learning until you are immersed in it. Being the only intern in the department gave me a sense of independence I had not experienced before. This gave me the opportunity for 1:1 time with all levels of employees.
The work I did was valuable not only to my personal growth, but my professional growth as well.
Major: Innovation in Healthcare
Position: Community Team Member
Organization: Quater Zero
Title: Business Development Intern
Organization: Orbital ATK/Northrop Grumman
My summer internship was a life-changing experience. I was afforded the privilege to work with an influential company in the space industry and explore the western part of the United States.
My agility and willingness to learn were developed as I was exposed to these new situations. I am confident that having had this internship will serve me well going forward.
Major: Chemistry & Spanish
Title: Undergraduate Researcher
Organization: REU: PR-CLIMB (University of Puerto Rico: Chemical learning integrated in materials and biomolecular applications)
Looking back at my experience in Puerto Rico is astounding. I gained real lab experience in a different language and in a different country.
It opened my eyes to the future of drug development and delivery and how it is constantly growing. More importantly, I was mentored by incredible doctors whom I stay in contact with today.
Through my connections and experiences at St. Bonaventure and UPRRP, I know I can successfully transition my way into the medicinal field.
Major: Strategic Communication
Title: Social Media Marketing Intern
Organization: Williams Sonoma Columbus Circle
Organization: Albany County (NY) District Attorney's Office
The District Attorney’s Office gave me an exceptional experience both in the office and in the courtroom. During my internship, I learned from various professionals such as judges, attorneys and my boss, bureau chief of the Major Crimes Unit.
I was able to sit in on and watch many trials, assist in jury selection and write responses to motions. This was an experience I will continue to value throughout my entire professional career.
