Twenty-three St. Bonaventure University rugby student-athletes have been named 2025-26 Scholastic All-Americans by National Collegiate Rugby (NCR).

The honor is awarded annually to collegiate rugby players who maintain at least a 3.5 grade-point average while also competing in at least 50% of their team’s A-side matches during either the fall 15s or spring 7s season. This year, NCR recognized 1,148 student-athletes from 152 institutions nationwide as Scholastic All-Americans.

Only about 5% of NCR players achieved Scholastic All-American status.

Representing St. Bonaventure on the men’s list were:

The recognition continues a tradition of academic and athletic excellence within St. Bonaventure's nationally respected rugby programs. The men captured the 2025 NCR Division I national championship, while the women continue to compete among the nation’s top Division I teams.

“We’re proud of these student-athletes for the commitment they demonstrate every day in the classroom and on the rugby pitch, said Rob DeFazio, dean of Students, who oversees the rugby programs. “This honor reflects the discipline, work ethic and pursuit of excellence that define St. Bonaventure rugby.”
