Tips for prospective students
- When looking at colleges and universities, try to channel the feeling you get when you set your stuff down and finally sit after a long day. The feeling of being "at home" - comfortable, relaxed and yourself - is crucial to choosing the right school.
- Keep in contact with your Admissions Counselor! Whether you're working through the application, FAFSA or just wondering about what the school offers regarding specific programs, clubs, etc., your counselor is there for you. Even after I graduated college, I had my Admissions Counselor look over my LinkedIn profile, resumes, and so much more.
- Be proactive. Don't wait for things to be handed or offered to you. If you're looking for scholarships, seek them out. There's so many underutilized scholarship funds out there that people don't take advantage of because they don't look. If you're struggling through something, ask for help. Taking control during your college search and admissions process will take you a long way!
