Summer study in Salamanca, Spain


Students in this five-week Spanish immersion experience earn 6 credits in Spanish. Courses include:
  • Span 201-202. Intermediate Spanish
  • Span 301-303. Composition & Conversation/Advanced Grammar & Composition
  • Span 309. Spanish Civilization & Culture
  • Span 335-435. Spanish Topics: Modern Language/Literature & Culture

Program features

Students stay with selected host families, two students per family, with all meals provided. Also included in the program:

  • hotel and 2 meals on overnight excursions
  • exploring Salamanca from the past to the present
  • cultural excursion to Toledo, Segovia, and Madrid
  • excursion in Portugal including transportation and hotel
  • cultural excursions to museums, historical sites, the Royal Palace, cathedrals, monuments, sightseeing, special group activities, and more
  • books for courses
  • basic medical insurance in Spain
  • transportation to and from the airport in Madrid to Salamanca
  • all transportation in Spain
  • class meetings and pre-departure orientation at St. Bonaventure
Not Included in the program:
  • airfare from the U.S. to Madrid
  • personal expenses
  • a valid U.S. passport
