Using figures provided by their websites, I have mapped out a budget comparing the cost of studying in Perugia, Italy, with the cost of attending St. Bonaventure University.
Some elements are difficult to compare exactly. For example, the costs for SBU assume that students reside in campus dormitories and eat in the dining hall, while In Perugia, students live in apartments and may shop and cook for themselves – at a considerable savings. Likewise, entertainment and local travel costs are difficult to estimate.
We are committed to keeping study abroad costs comparable to SBU semester expenses, and the figures below show the result. Note that this comparison includes airfare to Italy. A Franciscan Heritage Incentive discount worth $1,000 is available to qualified students who apply early.* Most accepted students qualify for this award, and with it, the basic cost of going to Italy for the semester is actually less than the cost of staying home!
