Bona Bridge Scholarship:

1. Successfully complete at least one SBU Bona Bridge course.
2. Matriculate at SBU for their undergraduate education beginning in Fall 2026.

Student Qualifications: 

• A high school GPA of 85 or higher in a college preparatory program and have junior or senior level standing.
• Be enrolled in a program in which the student has achieved, or is achieving, the normal requirements for admission to a university.
• Submit an application with St. Bonaventure's Office of Admissions to obtain permission to enroll.
• St. Bonaventure must obtain transcripts one month prior to starting the course.
• Exceptions may be given to students per instructor and the SBU faculty's approval.

• Certified SBU adjunct status upon completion of training.
• Annual refresher training and course updates training from SBU faculty supervisor, free of charge.

Teacher Qualifications - SBU supervising faculty/department evaluates HS faculty’s experience on content and makes the final decision with the following considerations:

• A degree in the content area or affiliated field (e.g., undergraduate degree in social science or social studies concentration/master degree in social studies to teach political science, history, economics).
• Evidence that HS faculty stay current in the field. 
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience in the content area.

Our program provides a seamless, cost-effective pathway to higher education while fostering academic excellence and professional growth for educators. Guidance Department

It is very important that members of the high school’s guidance department be thoroughly familiar with the requirements, objectives, and design of each course and work closely with teachers in advising prospective students when to register for SBU DE courses. SBU will provide guidance information to high school guidance personnel. (Download the Bona Bridge dual-enrollment program guide.) Guidance personnel should also pay close attention to the section above (in the FOR STUDENTS area), titled "Student Qualifications," for guidelines on student enrollment.
