It was a busy October for the counselor education program, with multiple faculty members presenting at national conferences and with national organizations.
Drs. Regina Moro, Rebecca Scherer, Heidi Henry, Margaret Hindman and Ashley Luedke presented at the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision Conference in Atlanta earlier this month.
- Associate Professor Moro presented on "Inclusive Counselor Education: The Use of Open Access Curriculum Materials."
- Assistant Professor Henry presented on "Z Generation Has Arrived! Adjusting Online Counselor Education Pedagogy to Meet the Needs of Gen Z."
- • Assistant Professor Scherer and Associate Professor Luedke presented together on "How To: Counseling, Supervision, and Education in a Post COVID World." Luedke also presented on "Teaching Multicultural Counseling in a Divided Time: Embracing
Difficult Conversations and Acknowledging the Cost of Teaching and Caring."
- Assistant Professor Hindman presented on "Connecting the Community Through Play: Enhancing Cultural Competence Through Action Research."
Hindman also presented “The Adult Public's Perception of the Utility of Play Therapy" at the Association for Play Therapy (APT) International Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Oct 14. She was recognized at the conference for completing
the APT 2020 Leadership Academy.
Additionally, Dr. Pressley Moore, assistant professor of counselor education, presented on "Memoing as a Process of Reflexivity and Wellness Achievement Amongst Doctoral Students of Color" at the National Board of Certified Counselor Foundation's
2021 Bridging the Gap Symposium in September.
