Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication, appeared in October on C-SPAN2.

Mackowski’s presentation “Fearless of All Danger: The Death of Thomas Greely Stevenson” was recorded in August. Stevenson was a Union general from Boston, Massachusetts, who was killed on May 10, 1864, at the Civil War battle of Spotsylvania Court House.

Mackowski explained that, for a variety of reasons, Stevenson’s story has been overshadowed for nearly 160 years. He also presented new research pinpointing the approximate location of Stevenson’s death, which has gone unidentified (and which now exists under a small subdivision).
