Dr. Connie Perkins, founding director of Nursing, along with a graduate student in the Master’s Entry to Practice nursing program, lobbied in Washington, D.C., with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

They met with legislators to educate them on the need for additional funding for workforce development and nursing research, as well as funds to reduce the nursing faculty and preceptor shortage.
