SBU's Gratz will present research at two summer conferences

Mar 21, 2025

Dr. Elizabeth T. Gratz, assistant professor of Marketing, will collaborate with fellow track members at the 2025 Transformative Consumer Research (TCR) dialogical conference, June 12-15 in Washington, D.C., in a track titled "Improving Marketplace Access for All: Learning from those with Invisible Disabilities."

Broadly, this research focuses on improving marketplace access for all by learning from consumers with nonapparent disabilities.

Gratz will present another research paper, titled "Tails Wag, Consumers Gag: Why We’ll Feed Insects To Our Pets But Not Ourselves, A Terror Management Theory Perspective," on June 21 at the Marketing and Public Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. This research explores the relationship whereby insect protein triggers disgust and death-thought accessibility, leading to consumers being unwilling to eat insect protein themselves and to a lesser extent, less likely to feed insect protein to their pets.
