Dr. Richard Lee, associate professor in the Jandoli School, appeared live on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" program on April 11 to discuss a project he assigned students in his Media and Democracy class.
Students created a log of every question asked by reporters during White House press briefings in March, coded the questions by subject to determine what topics were receiving the most attention from journalists, then compared the results with public
opinion polls showing the items citizens considered priorities.
The study was the lead story in CNN's April 6 Reliable Sources newsletter and was posted on CNN.com the following day.
