Counselor education professors present at conference

Drs. Heidi Henry, Whitney McLaughlin, Jaimie Stickl Haugen and Alison Bourdeau, assistant professors who teach in the online graduate counselor education program, presented at the 4th Benjamin V. Cohen Peace Conference, held virtually on April 9 and 10.

Their symposium was titled “Building Community: Facilitating Job Satisfaction of Newly Hired Remote Employees."

Henry and McLaughlin delivered a presentation titled “Job Satisfaction and Community Among Newly Hired Remote Employees.”

A presentation by Stickl Haugen and Bourdeau was titled “The Role of Sense of Belonging for New Remote Employees.” 
Following their presentations, they facilitated dialogue with attendees. 

The theme for this year’s conference, "Building a Beloved Community,” was based on the vision and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

This international conference was hosted by the Ball State University Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and featured presenters from a variety of disciplines, backgrounds, and countries, including scholars, students, activists, and community leaders from the United States, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, India, Norway, Ethiopia, Chile, Israel, and the Philippines.
