Dr. Tammy Matthews, assistant professor in Sports Journalism & Digital Journalism, and Dr. Tara Walker, associate professor of Communication, organized and participated in a panel at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) conference in San Francisco, California, in August.

The panel, titled “Care Ethics and DEI in Media,” focused on the way scholars use care ethics as a research lens and as a means to create more inclusive classroom environments. Matthews discussed how care ethics relates to various gender-based representations, drawing on her upcoming publication in Feminist Media Studies. Walker was the panel’s moderator and highlighted how the Jandoli School advocates for access and belonging.
