Dr. Sheri Voss, assistant professor of Literacy in the School of Education, was elected as president-elect of the New York State Reading Association (NYSRA).

She presented on the integration of artificial intelligence in literacy education at the National Literacy Institute Leadership Conference in Galveston, Texas, in June, and at the NYSRA Leadership Retreat in Albany in July.

Voss also serves on the committee responsible for bringing the annual NYSRA Conference to Buffalo in November 2025 — the first time in more than 25 years that the event will be held in Western New York. Hosting the conference in Buffalo positions St. Bonaventure’s School of Education to highlight its programs and actively recruit teachers into its graduate offerings.

In addition, several graduate students in the B-12 Literacy Program have been selected to present their research alongside Voss at the upcoming NYSRA Conference.
