St. Bonaventure’s club softball team is headed back to Danville, Pennsylvania, this weekend to defend its North Atlantic Regional tournament title.
The Bonnies (13-2) qualified for the regional tournament by winning the North Atlantic North Conference for the third straight year, edging the University at Buffalo (12-3).
St. Bonaventure took two out of three games in a series with the Bulls in late March, ultimately proving to be the difference in capturing the league crown.
The Bonnies are seeded third in the four-team double-elimination tourney and will face No. 2 Navy at 10 a.m. Saturday. No. 1 Penn State plays No. 4 Maryland in the other game. The title game is Sunday at 10 a.m.
SBU’s team captains are Ava Mustico, Marion Naple and Cecelia Byrne. The Bonnies had a run differential of 128 to 55 in their 15 games.
In 2025, the Bonnies won the North Atlantic Regional to advance to the National Club Softball Association World Series in Georgia.
