Carl Case honored with inaugural Laine Faculty Scholar Award

Dr.-Carl-CaseSt. Bonaventure University’s School of Business has named Dr. Carl Case, professor in the Department of Management, as the 2025-26 recipient of the Marianne and Erick Laine Faculty Scholar Award.

The inaugural award recognizes Case’s exceptional academic achievements, scholarly impact and longstanding dedication to excellence in research and teaching.


The Laine Faculty Scholar Award celebrates sustained scholarly accomplishment and contributions that advance the mission and reputation of the School of Business and its AACSB-accredited programs.

Throughout his distinguished career, Case has compiled a record of scholarship that reflects both depth and global reach. His body of work includes 99 peer-reviewed journal publications, 51 refereed proceedings, 120 research presentations and 48 research awards, many representing top honors from leading academic and professional organizations.

Serving as lead author on 93 publications, Case has demonstrated a sustained commitment to innovation, collaboration and intellectual rigor in his field.

His research has reached international audiences, with presentations delivered in Vancouver, Canada; Prague, Czechia; Barcelona, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and at the prestigious London School of Economics. His scholarship has not only contributed to the advancement of management research but has also enhanced the visibility and academic standing of St. Bonaventure’s School of Business on a global stage.

“Dr. Case exemplifies the scholarly excellence the Laine Faculty Scholar distinction represents,” said Dr. Matrecia James, dean of the School of Business. “With an extraordinary record of publications, awards and international presentations, he has demonstrated sustained academic leadership and global impact. We are proud to recognize him as our inaugural Laine Faculty Scholar.”

Case has been a member of SBU’s School of Business faculty since 1999.
