Monday will be a day to shout about at St. Bonaventure.

Yella’s, the new food hub within the RC Café, will hold a ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m. Monday. The campus community is invited for the brief ceremony.

Sample menu items, including Yella’s signature milkshakes, will be available for tasting.

SBU is one of 27 colleges, primarily in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, to have a Yella’s location on campus.

Inspired by the unfulfilled dream of their grandfather, the Lorenzo brothers opened two Yella’s sandwich shops in New Jersey in the early 2000s.

After closing the restaurants to focus on food production and manufacturing, the brothers opened a new restaurant in 2022 in Hawthorne, New Jersey. Soon after, they offered franchising opportunities to the college dining market.

Aramark, SBU’s food service provider, partnered with Yella’s on the project.

Yella’s offers a menu of classic comfort foods, including a wide variety of burgers, deli-style sandwiches, subs, chicken dishes, and milkshakes.
