A number of St. Bonaventure alumni and individuals affiliated with Bona’s past and present attended the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities (AFCU) Symposium June 4-7 at Viterbo University in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the “Canticle of the Creatures.”
Among those who attended were three presidential alumni, SBU president emeritus Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., ’86, Viterbo University President Dr. Rick Trietley, ’86, and Neumann University President Dr. Chris Domes, ’85. First ladies Michele Trietley, ’88, and Mary Domes, ’86, were also present.
Representing St. Bonaventure faculty were John Stevens, ’74, Michael McLanahan, ’17, Dr. Joe Coate, and Dr. Mike Gallagher from the School of Business; Dr. Paula Scraba, ’05, from the School of Education; and Dr. Kevin Vogel from the School of Arts and Sciences.
Franciscan Institute Director Fr. David Couturier, O.F.M. Cap., who is also a Viterbo trustee, and SBU Vice President of Mission Integration Fr. Stephen Mimnaugh, O.F.M., attended, along with Karen Pulaski, ’84, of Mt. Irenaeus, Viterbo University Campus Ministry Assistant Kyle Trietley, ’17, Viterbo Vice President for Advancement Bob VanWicklin, and Neumann University Vice President for Mission & Ministry Sr. Kathy Dougherty, O.S.F.
Br. Jimmy Kernan, O.F.M., ’19, of Siena College also attended but is not pictured.
St. Bonaventure will host the 2027 AFCU Symposium.
