Jul 28, 2025

An articulation agreement between St. Bonaventure University and Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania establishes a new pathway for Commonwealth students to enter SBU’s Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program.

Marasco, Suzi 2023Undergraduate Health Science or Exercise Science majors at Commonwealth University will be given preferential consideration for admission to St. Bonaventure’s MSOT program. Commonwealth University has three campuses in the Pennsylvania boroughs of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield.

“The OT Department is excited to announce this articulation agreement with Commonwealth University in Pennsylvania,” said Dr. Suzanne Marasco, chair of the department. “We have been collaborating with the Commonwealth campuses over the past few years to spread the word about occupational therapy to students considering a career in health care, and we are thrilled to now have a formalized, streamlined process to bring those students to our MSOT program.”

Occupational therapy classroomSt. Bonaventure will annually guarantee admission to at least five students from Commonwealth University who meet the admission criteria. Commonwealth students should apply to the MSOT program at SBU by Dec. 1 the year before they expect to begin the master’s program. Occupational Therapy cohorts begin each August, and students are accepted on a rolling basis.

Early Assurance Pathways offer two tracks for the MSOT program: an accelerated 3+2 pathway and a traditional 4+2 pathway.

St. Bonaventure’s 22-month Occupational Therapy program combines rigorous academic work, hands-on fieldwork, and state-of-the art facilities in the Dennis R. DePerro School of Health Professions. It is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
