St. Bonaventure University’s Music program will ring in the holiday season with a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, on campus.
The concert will be held in Rigas Theater of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts and is free and open to the public.
The evening program will last about 50 minutes and will feature performances from several talented student ensembles.
The SBU Jazz Band, directed by Dr. Les Sabina, will perform several big band arrangements of well-known Christmas songs, including “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Frosty the Snowman.”
Dr. Cyril Bodnar will direct the SBU Brass/Trumpet Ensemble in the performance of classic Christmas carols. Sabina will also direct the SBU Woodwind Ensemble featuring a flute, clarinets, saxophones and a bassoon in more Christmas carols.
Dr. Brian Stevens will direct a combined choir from the St. Bonaventure Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in both traditional and contemporary renderings of holiday classics. Two student vocal soloists – Keeley Reiford and Joseph Debell – will also be featured.
