Dr. Barry L. Gan, professor emeritus of Philosophy, presented via Zoom a paper at the annual meeting of Concerned Philosophers for Peace in Birmingham, Alabama, on Oct. 18.

The paper, titled "Violence: a Further Inquiry," examines the nature of violence. It also critiques the concepts of institutional violence and micro-aggressions, arguing that they are, in most instances, not really instances of violence or aggression.
