Dr. Pamina Abkowitz, assistant professor of Childhood Education, was elected executive board president of the American Council on Rural Special Education (ACRES) for the 2024-25 board year.

ACRES is a nonprofit organization composed of special educators, general educators, related service providers, administrators, teacher trainers, researchers, and parents committed to enhancing services to children and adults with exceptionalities living in rural communities.
