Dr. Barry L. Gan, professor emeritus of philosophy, published a recent paper of his in the current issue of "The Acorn: Philosophical Studies in Pacifism and Nonviolence."

Titled "The Truth of Nonviolence: A Critique of 'The Force of Nonviolence' by Judith Butler," the article critiques five of Butler's main points in the book and offers alternative approaches to understanding nonviolence.
