Book chapter on gerontological research co-written by Strasser

Nov 17, 2023

Dr. Irene Strasser, assistant professor of psychology, has co-authored a chapter on community-based gerontological research in The Routledge International Handbook on Innovative Qualitative Psychological Research (2023).

The chapter, "Asset Mapping Towards Community Development: Exploring the Newly Emerged Field of Home-based Care Services in Cairo," discusses an asset-based community development approach, mapping the landscape of ambulatory elder care services in urban Cairo, Egypt.

To better understand supply-demand dynamics and challenges, data from various stakeholders was gathered, and innovative qualitative research methods were employed, including geographic information system (GIS) mapping.
