Alice Miller Nation named director of University Ministries at St. Bonaventure

Alice Miller NationAlice Miller Nation has been named the director of University Ministries at St. Bonaventure University, Fr. Stephen Mimnaugh, O.F.M., vice president for Mission Integration, announced today.

Miller Nation has been director of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern at St. Bonaventure since 2018.

“I’m thrilled that Alice was willing to take on this role,” Fr. Stephen said. “Alice is the living embodiment of our Franciscan mission and values, as much so as anyone I’ve met in my time here at St. Bonaventure.”

In her new role, Miller Nation will continue to oversee the Franciscan Center for Social Concern. She will also be responsible for University Ministries, leading a team focused on innovative student-centered programming and service to the St. Bonaventure community.

Since arriving at SBU, Miller Nation has assisted students in establishing the SBU Food Pantry and Bona Scouts, an outreach to the scouting community within the Allegheny Highlands Council.

Prior to coming to Bonaventure, she was the associate director of Newman Catholic Community at Rochester Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018. Previously, she was a pastoral associate at St. Matthew Church in Livonia from 2000 to 2014.

Miller Nation provided a comprehensive pastoral experience for students, local community and alumni who worshiped and affiliated with the Newman Catholic Community at RIT in an interfaith setting.

She also worked from 2002 to 2016 at Camp Stella Maris, a summer camp in Livonia that values inclusiveness, diversity and challenging oneself in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Miller Nation sits on the boards of Camp Stella Maris, Allegheny Highlands Council (Boy Scouts of America) and the Myers Foundation.
