A limited number of spots remain available in St. Bonaventure University’s Esports Summer Day Camp, scheduled for July 6–10, 2026. The camp offers middle and high school students an immersive, hands-on introduction to competitive gaming, teamwork and esports-related careers.
Held in The Game Room on the second floor of the university’s Reilly Center, the camp is designed for students who are passionate about gaming and interested in improving their skills while learning what it takes to compete and collaborate in a team-based environment.
“This camp goes beyond playing games,” said Christian Greer, head coach of the St. Bonaventure varsity esports program. “Participants will learn how to train effectively, communicate as a team and develop healthy gaming habits.”
Throughout the week, campers will engage in structured gameplay, skill-development sessions, and team-based challenges. In addition to improving game-specific abilities, participants will be introduced to the broader esports ecosystem, including livestreaming, event management and career opportunities in the rapidly growing industry.
A highlight of the program is a capstone experience in which campers will work together to plan, organize and host a live esports event for family and friends on the final day. The event provides hands-on experience in leadership, collaboration and event production.
SBU's cutting-edge esports arena features five high-performance competition PCs located on a “Battle Ramp” as well as 12 general-use computers. Two massive LED walls showcase gaming action and video footage.
The camp is open to students entering grades 8–12. The cost is $499 per student. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required within two business days of registration confirmation to secure a spot. Enrollment is limited to ensure a personalized and engaging experience.
