All MEP nursing graduates pass national licensure exam

Apr 20, 2026

All five December graduates of St. Bonaventure University’s Master’s Entry to Practice (MEP) nursing program have passed the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.

The perfect pass rate exceeds both the New York state average of 82% and the national average of 87%.

Graduates in the program’s second cohort are Claire Hoffman, MS, RN; Julia Nunn, MS, RN; Angelina Padilla, MS, RN; Alayne Schobey, MS, RN; and Danielle Wolcott, MS, RN.

Hoffman is working in the emergency department at UPMC Cole, Schobey is serving in the labor and delivery unit at UPMC Chautauqua, and Wolcott works in a medical-surgical unit at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo.

“I’m so proud of this cohort’s dedication to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN, proving their knowledge of clinical judgment,” said Dr. Connie J. Perkins, founding director of Nursing at SBU. “I appreciate the hard work my faculty team also put in to ensure they each have a positive launch to the rest of their wonderful nursing careers.”

The NCLEX-RN is the national licensing examination required for registered nurses and is designed to assess clinical judgment and the ability to make safe patient care decisions.

St. Bonaventure’s 65-credit, six-semester MEP program is designed for students who hold Bachelor of Science degrees in other fields and prepares them for entry into professional nursing practice.
