Rizzuto earns certified aging-in-place specialist credential

Dr. Aime Rizzuto, clinical assistant professor of Occupational Therapy, completed a rigorous three-part certification series to earn her CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) credential.


Dr. Aime Rizzuto, clinical assistant professor of Occupational Therapy, completed a rigorous three-part certification series to earn her CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) credential.

Rizzuto, Aime OT 2023This nationally recognized designation, awarded by the National Association of Home Builders, enhances Rizzuto’s ability to support individuals who wish to remain safe and independent in their homes. With more than 20 years of experience in geriatrics, Rizzuto has focused her career on geriatric rehabilitation, person-centered dementia care, home evaluations, home modifications, and promoting safe, functional aging-in-place solutions.

Her new CAPS certification complements her extensive clinical background and strengthens her role as an advocate for older adults in the community. Rizzuto is available to assist community members and their families with personalized home assessments and evaluations to meet any aging-in-place needs. She also welcomes collaboration with local contractors and home builders to incorporate principles of universal design and aging-in-place strategies into new builds and home renovations.
