Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of Journalism and Mass Communication, made a pair of invited presentations on Oct. 5 at the Art of Command Conference in Middleburg, Virginia.

Mackowski spoke on “The Rise of Ulysses S. Grant and Moments of Contingency” and “The What-Ifs of the North Anna River” (a phase of the Civil War’s 1864 Overland Campaign in Virginia). 

Mackowski also gave an invited talk at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Oct. 7 about the Civil War battle of Spotsylvania Court House.
