Dr. Shatonda Jones, associate professor and director of clinical education for SBU's newly developing online Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program in the DePerro School of Health Professions, was elected chair-elect of the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). 

The CAA offers voluntary accreditation to graduate degree programs in audiology and speech-language pathology, and establishes and enforces accreditation standards. 

Jones currently serves as vice chair for Speech Pathology of the CAA and will assume her chair-elect duties in January 2025. Her term as chair begins in January 2026.
