Book chapter coauthored by Henry focuses on RCT principles

Sep 10, 2024

Dr. Heidi L. Henry, assistant professor of Counselor Education, coauthored a book chapter titled "Celebrating Demisexuality” that was published in the book "Queering Connection: Narratives of Healing in Relational Cultural Therapy with Queer and Transgender Clients."

The coauthor was Dr. Nate Smith, former assistant professor of Counselor Education at SBU.

The book, edited by Smith, provides an in-depth look into the application of Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) principles to the therapeutic treatment of queer and transgender clients. The chapter exemplifies how relational resilience and courage, two foundational principles of RCT, can be cultivated in the healing process.
